A Shelby County judge Tuesday revoked the probation of youth evangelist Matt Pitt. Pitt, the founder of the Basement ministry, pleaded guilty to a charge of impersonating an officer last year. He was given a suspended one year sentence and probation. Pitt was arrested again on the same charge in Jefferson County in August. Shelby County District Attorney Robby Owens called for Pitt's probation to be revoked, citing the new charge. Judge Dan Reeves agreed, ordering Pitt to serve the 10 months remaining on his sentence. Owens says Pitt will likely serve 6-8 months, because of time served and the reduction for good behavior.
